Archive Process 101

Archive Process 101

Carleen DekarskiTheory in action

If I had to distill the Art of Archiving down to the core steps then my “Archive Process – from Go to Whoa and back around it goes” would be it. Infographics are a great tool to quickly and visually outline a process however they do have some shortcomings.

For example, my infographic distills the process well however it does not talk about all the extra cool stuff like setting up your archive building, the processes that go into writing policies, resourcing, budgets, description requirements, retention and disposal, preservation techniques and all that other good stuff. But, hey, that’s not what an infographic is about right?

Anyway, here is my take on Archive 101 distilled down to the basics. Enjoy.
